Colefax and Fowler Collection 2014

STYLISH SOPHISTICATION

a harmonious array of expressive designs bring glamour and confidence to the new collection from Colefax and Fowler.

Led by the bold statements of LUCIUS damask and CORDELIA embroidery, this season's elegant collection features decorative detailing which reflects the creative craftsmanship of every design.

A jewel-toned palette of muted blue, rich red and intense onyx, teal and charcoal, is complemented by exotically-hued florals and arabesques. Paisley designs feature on softly printed velvets and wools. Stripes are given a sumptuous look in the silk taffeta PASCALE, while the GENOA and ADAIR offer a fresh take on stripes.

Richly coloured embroideries such as BAPTISTA and MARTINEZ are enhanced by the keynote Tree of Life pattern and damask motif, while subtle ombred damasks such as CESARIO shimmer in gold and rose colourways, SERAPHINA, a beautiful cascading wisteria pattern, looks soft and Arcadian as wallpaper, becoming more painterly as a fabric, while the intricate ORIENTAL POPPY is recreated in strong new shades, giving two different moods to a Colefax and Fowler favourite.

Weaves this season are available in miodnight blue, rich rust and taupe and are varied, ranging from the luxurious silk sheen of PADOVA to the softness of the new wool collections featuring plaids, jacquards and plains. texgture appears in TRISTAN, fine chenille, and the geometric tweed of LAMBERT, complementing perfectly the more informal designs of APPLEDORE with its mixture of varied checks, plains and tickings.

The addition of a serier of delicately embroidered sheers in contrasting degrees of lightness, defined by stitch-woprk details such as medallion repeats and trellis designs, are suggestive of Neoclassicism.

Complementing the fabrics is a range of decorative wallpapers features many of the patterns from the BAPTISTA fabric collection, as well as the renowned SNOW GTREE, now newly-coloured in silver and blue.
