Colefax and Fowler 2010

Colefax and Fowler 2010

Colefax and Fowler has long been admired for the supreme quality of its beautifully crafted fabrics and wallpapers.
The new collection for Autumn 2010 offers a covetable selection of embroideries on linen and silk, attractively patterned woven linens, soft chenilles in checks and stripes, and a variety of plains with particular emphasis on rich texture and gentle drape. Wallpapers are characterised by charming small-scale pattern, giving them a certain and versatile appeal.
The organic forms of flowers and leaves, stylised or highly naturalistic, typify the latest designs. Rochelle creates a sophisticated, contemporary look with feathery ferns both embroidered and printed, and the more traditional Summerby trails exquisite embroidered hydrangeas over a muted stripe. Evesham, Pembury and Antoinette convey graceful delicacy, and the simplified oak leaves of Dryden offer a stylish, modern interpretation of original English crewel work.
Highly decorative designs are complemented by exceptionally subtle weaves, checks and stripes in a palette of sophisticated muted colours, including Valancey, a restrained damask of Gustavian elegance, and a selection of refined trellis designs. Claydon and Suffolk are outstanding plains in faded tones, creating a timeless look.
Wallpaper designs use organic leaf motifs alongside stripes, trellis, plains and sprigs. The lasting appeal of Sudbury Park is a reminder of the threads linking past and present which embody all that has come to represent the enduring image of Colefax and Fowler.
